Thank you for your support.
I would like to extend my thanks to all those people who gave their time and/or helped by making a donation to the Power Project.
Special thanks go to Shirley and Stan, Margarite, Danica, Lucas, Diane, Michelle and Vipul for their fantastic efforts on the day. You made Victor very happy indeed. Thank you.
Victor's Garden
Please help!!!
This is an opportunity for you to make a real difference to someone.
Victor is an elderly gentleman that I met a number of months ago. I mow his lawns for him as he is no longer able to maintain them himself.
After Christmas Victor was involved in a car crash which resulted in the death of his brother. Although Victor is now recovering from his injuries and coping (almost) with his loss, he isn't really able to maintain his property and things are getting away from him.
I am trying to get a group of people together who are willing to offer their time on Saturday 27th of February, maybe 2 or 3 hours, to help get Victor's garden back in shape.
I appreciate that time is precious and many of us are busy with either our own projects at home, have family commitments or simply need a break from the day-to-day pressures and so I have kindly put a 'Donate' button on the Homepage of this web site (!). Everything donated (and you can choose how much) goes towards the 'Power Project'. Even if you can help out with $5 it will be appreciated. It uses the PayPal system so if you have a PayPal account it will be nice and easy. You can donate with a credit card by clicking on the credit card bit just below the PayPal option.
For those able to help out on Saturday 27th, please email me and let me know. My email address is on most pages of this web site. We will be meeting at Victor's house in Tawa at around 10am and getting stuck in. It's overgrown, but not out of control so with a bit of vigorous hand weeding, a bit of trimming and pruning it can be brought back into line.
I will be bringing drinks for all volunteers and I do have some spare equipment, but if you can bring your own gardening gloves and any tools you think might be of use it would be great. I have bags for the green waste etc. If anyone has a trailer to help take the rubbish away, please let me know - I will sort out the Landfill fees when it comes to dumping it. Obviously I have mine and so that will be used anyway.
It won't take much effort but it will make a huge difference to Victor as it is beyond him now. I am not even sure he has been out in the garden since returning home.
So c'mon, help me to help Victor out. I know it's not the same as a tsunami, an earthquake or famine but this is someone close to you who needs a bit of help and it will be so easy for you to make a real contribution, knowing your time or donation is actually making a difference.
Go on, email me or click on the donate button - it's a Credit card so you will get to feel good when you get the statement next month too. That's like two for one really...
Thank you
